Meet Cameron
Welcome! My name is Cameron Clark and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Brainspotting Consultant and yoga instructor with over a decade of experience as a trauma therapist and nonprofit program director. Before starting Beyond, I worked at the Sexual Assault Center as a therapist and the Director of Statewide Training where I both supported survivors of sexual violence and the clinicians and advocates providing care.
Therapy with me often involves slowing down, getting curious, and working with the nervous system in a way that supports lasting change. My intention is to create a space where you can show up as you are, feel genuinely met, safe to connect and hopefully laugh a little - a space where real healing and meaningful change can begin to unfold.
When working with clients, I draw on my training in Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Mindful Self-Compassion, Trauma Sensitive Yoga and parts work. These modalities help us work with the nervous system in a way that honors your autonomy and capacity. We will work collaboratively to shape our time around what feels safe and helpful for you. You can learn more about these modalities here.
I support people navigating anxiety and depression, complex and sexual trauma, life transitions and premenstrual distress (including PMDD and PME), as well as athletes and performers. No matter what brings you in, we’ll work together to explore how change becomes possible when your story is witnessed and tended to, not pushed past.
Because we often meet ourselves with more judgment than care when we’re struggling, I have a particular interest supporting people in developing a more compassionate relationship with themselves. While struggle may be an inevitable part of the shared human experience, it’s one that we don’t have to navigate alone. Compassion heals by allowing us to be a good friend to ourselves not only when things are going well, but most importantly when things are hard.
I am committed to providing an inclusive, affirming space where people from all walks of life feel safe and welcome. My work is LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in intersectionality, cultural humility, and respect for lived experience. I believe that healing must account for the broader systems and contexts that shape our lives.
Outside of the therapist office, you can usually find me on my yoga mat, adventuring outdoors, gardening, cuddling my dachshunds, trying to charm the resident carpenter bees and watching sports. I’m inspired by good music, a meaningful challenge and traveling with my husband.
I founded Beyond Counseling and Wellness in 2021, followed by Beyond Wellness Herbals in 2024.
