About Us
Cameron Clark, LCSW, SEP, ERYT
Founder, Therapist, Certified Brainspotting Therapist
Cameron Clark is a Licensed Clinical Social worker and yoga teacher with over a decade of experience as a therapeutic yoga instructor, trauma therapist, community educator and non-profit program director. Cameron is passionate about walking alongside clients on their journey towards wellness, using an integrative and evidenced-based approach. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most vital element of the healing process and brings her most authentic self to the work.
Cameron is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Certified Brainspotting Therapist, and has advanced training in EMDR, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, DBT and Mindful Self Compassion. Cameron incorporates parts work, inner child work, and other mindfulness-based interventions to support individual client’s needs. Cameron is a forever student of the natural world, most recently receiving a certificate from the Plant Folk School of Herbalism. Cameron is also proud to be a circle facilitator under the guidance and mentorship of Tracy and Leigh Ann Roberts of the Circle Center Nashville.
After receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work, Cameron began her career as a clinical therapist at the Sexual Assault Center (SAC). Her experience supporting survivors of sexual violence enabled her to transition into program development, where she worked to establish and develop the Center’s Statewide Training Program, serving as the Director of Statewide Training through the remainder of her tenure at SAC. In this role, Cameron and her team provided comprehensive capacity building opportunities to sexual assault service providers across the state. The program placed an emphasis on the psycho-physiology of trauma, trauma informed practices and practitioner wellness and resiliency.
A competitive athlete throughout her childhood and into college, Cameron gradually exchanged 2 a days for a yoga practice starting in 2008. This practice has been central in her own personal development; guiding her as she navigates healing and spirituality in a practical way. She completed her first teacher training at Pure Yoga in New York City in 2011 and has gone on to study therapeutics with Dana Slamp and the faculty at Prema Yoga Institute, Bo Forbes, Yin yoga with Sarah and Ty Powers, Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), an evidence-based clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment.
When not in the therapy office or yoga studio, you can find Cameron out hiking and climbing, gardening with her dachshunds, desperately trying to make friends with bees, in the ceramics studio and traveling to remote places with her husband. She is inspired by the rhythms of nature, folk music and the dance of vulnerability.
Cameron founded Beyond Counseling and Wellness in November of 2021, and Beyond Wellness Herbal Remedies in 2024.
The Ultimate Therapeutic Presence
Cali is a 15 year old short haired dachshund with a genuine love for life and calming presence. Like Cameron, she brings her full personality into session with her. Cali offers clients at Beyond Counseling and Wellness her presence and encouragement, reminding us all to focus on what’s most important in life - treats and fluffy beds of course! Cali accompanies Cameron both at the office and in the background over telehealth to support clients on their healing journey. While she may be slowing down a little bit in her golden years, her enthusiasm to welcome you into sessions knows no bounds - you’ll see what we mean when she trots out to meet you at the start of session!
If you would prefer a dog-free environment for therapy, be sure to let us know! Cali understands and will gladly work from home that day with her little brother Fynn and her blankets!
